Abortion

As an Eater of Men, Cthulhu is disappointed by the abortion of pregnancies limiting the food supply; embryos brought to term and allowed to grow into adults each represent some 190,000 kilocalories, on average.

However, Cthulhu understands the stark difference between what is and what will be. While foeti remain parasitic, unable to survive out in the world, the rights of a potential child to exist in the future pales in constrast to the rights of those already alive to make their own medical decisions with a reasonable expectation of privacy.

As the issue of abortion is ultimately the issue of statelevel rights, Cthulhu acknowledges that the letter and spirit of the Tenth Amendment—The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people—affords each State only the right to pass local laws expanding the rights prescribed within the Federal Constitution, without enacting limitations upon the Bill of Rights.
