Adta Collective Agreement

The Abbotsford District Teachers` Association (ADTA) says the borough`s preferred plan exceeds the maximum number of minutes of instruction on a typical school day. According to ADTA, the schedule is about 10 minutes longer per day than their collective agreement allows. The days are longer to meet the minimum deadlines imposed by the province for the teaching time of the year. The following pay schedules reflect the increases in the six-year collective agreement (July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2019) between BCTF and BCPSEA [including the Economic Stability Dividend (ESD)], which were: September 1, 2014 – 2.0%; January 1, 2015 – 1.25%; May 1, 2016 – ESD – 0.45%; July 1, 2016 – 1.00%; May 1, 2017 – ESD – 0.35%; July 1, 2017 – 0.50%; May 1, 2018 – ESD 0.40 per cent – 1.00%; July 1, 2018 – 0.50%; May 1, 2019 – ESD – 0.75% – 1.00%. MOU Extending Job Share Application Timeline 2016-2017 Board Chair Shirley Wilson said she hopes the district can continue the two-week breaks it has “enjoyed” for the past 15 years, but it may have to reto reto one-week breaks if a grievance from the local teachers` union isn`t resolved.
